Educating girls,
empowering women,
transforming communities.

We educate girls, empower women, and transform communities in Ndhiwa, Homabay County.

We work with local primary schools, and the whole community that surrounds them to tackle the barriers that prevent girls from accessing quality education

Twende Pamoja has transformed the lives of over 80,000 people in Ndhiwa, including 25,000 directly and approximately 40,000 young girls indirectly.

Why Girls?

Girls Can Change The World

Given the chance, girls can play a critical role in solving the most persistent development problems facing the world today. By investing in girls’ education, preventing early marriage and teenage pregnancy, issues such as HIV and AIDS can be resolved and the cycle of poverty can be broken. It’s not about prioritizing girls over boys (in fact, we do lots of work with boys and men in the community), it’s about working with all community members to level the playing field and tackle inequality.

Girls Education

Girls gain access to and attain a good quality education and have relevant skills and knowledge to fully participate in economic social and cultural life.
