OUR PROGRAMMES

Team Kenya and Twende Pamoja facilitate Girls’ Support Groups in each of our partner schools to give additional support to girls who have been identified as being at most risk of dropping out of school. These girls are often partial or full orphans living in female headed households. In addition to working with these girls we also work with their mothers or guardians to form table banking groups, so that mothers and guardians can afford to better support their daughters and other family members now and in the future.

 

The groups meet weekly at the schools to pay in and share out. The women in attendance are given financial training and access to small loans and are supported to save and lend one another money so that they can meet their daughters’ needs. Having this programme in Ndhiwa allows parents and carers of children buy the resources needed to meet the basic needs within their home.
